Thomas Sowell is an American economist, social theorist, and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. Born on June 30, 1930, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Sowell is known for his conservative and libertarian views. He has written extensively on economics, history, social policy, and political philosophy. Sowell’s works include numerous books and essays, with notable titles such as “Basic Economics,” “A Conflict of Visions,” and “Discrimination and Disparities.” He has contributed to public discourse through his syndicated columns and is widely respected for his insights into market economics, education, and race relations. Sowell earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, a master’s from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago.  – Social Commentary
